Unbelievable! i was just asked to make a sick visit so that a PA, in the practice, could write me an Over the counter script for ibuprofen so that I can get reimbursed by my employer for FSA. The practice is worried about being unethical. Is it unethical to bill the insurance company for a sick visit when I am not sick (I have no copay and even offered to make a well visit appointment in the near future and they just saw me a few months ago)? All this was explained and escalated. The business manager laughed HARD at the very fact that I suggested how they are nickel and diming the system!
